Abstract
Republicans in the Maine Legislature are upset about the $3.8 billion state budget, which was passed by majority vote by the Democrats. Gov. King's spokesman and House Speaker Elizabeth Mitchell say the timely budget will have an effect on the lives of Mainers. Among other things, the early passage of the budget will allow school superintendents to do some real planning by knowing exactly how much state government money their systems will receive. Details.
