Abstract
"Educational Innovations" piece on Fish Banks, a board game that simulates resource management in the context of commercial fishing. Teams formulate policies to govern fleet expansion and allocation of vessels to different fishing areas, with decisions represented on a central game board using small ships. Fish Banks has been used by employees of Tom's of Maine as part of management and employee training, and by University of New Hampshire Professor Richard England in his classes on economics and natural resources. Fish Banks uses a computer model to teach the principles of sustainable management of renewable resources. Details.
