Abstract

Letter to the editor from Anne Webster-Wallace of the Maine Lights Program in Rockland, correcting statements in an earlier article ( Steve Cartwright's "Lighthouses get new lease on life," SpringGuide 97) on ownership of the 36 lighthouse involved in the Maine Lights Program. According to Ms. Webster-Wallace, ownership will be passed directly from the U.S. Coast Guard to entities recommended by the Maine Lighthouse Selection Committee and will never be "in the hands of the institute" as reported in the Cartwright article.
