Abstract
Maine Perspectives column starts by commenting on the ugly debate over so called "partial birth abortions" which culminated in a death threat against Rep. Elizabeth Watson. Rooks looks at the abortion debate on both the state and national level and concludes that the Republican right's negative energy has negative results in the Legislative process and calls for cooperation rather than confrontation.
