Abstract

Bill Lippincott, owner of Lippincott Books of Bangor and current president of the Maine Antiquarian Bookseller's Association, says around ten percent of Maine book dealers have homepages on the World Wide Web. Dunn & Powell Books of Bar harbor has had a web site for around one year, and site has had a small impact on business. Scott Wilson of Carlson & Turner Books of Portland said updating the store's web page is a problem. Reg Lombard of Lombard Antiquarian Map & Prints said the Internet has worked well for the store, but the problem for some dealers is getting on the Internet requires a front-end investment. Details.
