Abstract

The Portland nightclub scene is in a state of flux. Longtime alternative bar Raoul's Roadside Attraction has been temporarily shut down while landlords East Brown Cow Associates decide whether to rent the space or run it themselves. Zootz on Forest Avenue is up for sale, while the State Theater is in the process of being renovated into a concert venue for nationally-known music acts.
