Abstract
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is working with the Institute for Global Ethics in Camden to develop a pilot program to help convicted poachers learn how to make ethical choices. The program's intent is to change the way poachers think, and will target individuals who have lost their hunting licenses for various hunting violations. After the program is established, sportsmen who lose their licenses for poaching violations will be required to complete the course before receiving new licenses. IF&W last year revoked the hunting, fishing and trapping licenses of 370 individuals.
