Abstract
Profiles of four singer/songwriters with Maine roots. Mark Erelli, an undergraduate at Bates College, recently released his first CD, "Long Way From Heaven." Garth Cormier of Portland works hard on the local folk circuit, and his CD, "Plummet," was brooding and intense. Darien Brahms has long been Portland's reigning rock queen. Slaid Cleaves has left Maine for Austin, Texas, and recently signed with Rounder Records.
