Abstract
Brahms-Mount of Hallowell, producer of blankets, throws and togas, must import flax from Europe because of a lack of pre-manufacturing capability in Maine. Claudia Brahms said the company would like to purchase flax grown in Aroostook County, but doesn't plan to invest in the yarn-making machines. Linen, the finished form of flax, is a popular item for fall fashions.
