Abstract
Downeast Pharmacy last month sold three of its stores to Brooks Pharmacy, now part of the Brooks Maxi Drug chain. Two more Downeast stores will be sold the end of the month, to Arrow Prescription Centers. Michael Fiori of Readfield, founder and president of Downeast Pharmacy, said he opened a store in Fort Kent in May after local leaders said residents wanted an alternative to Rite Aid, but the store is struggling. Downeast Pharmacy will be down to six stores, in Brunswick, Sanford, Winthrop, Fort Kent, Boothbay Harbor and Brewer. Details; related article.
