Abstract
"Maine Perspectives" piece on the Select Committee on Research and Development and its recommendation for a $20 million bond issue to upgrade university and private research facilities. The committee also recommended providing five $10 million annual appropriations to add staff, chiefly at the University of Maine and the University of Southern Maine.
