Abstract

Related articles on historic architecture in Maine. Rick Poore restored an 18th-century saltbox in Standish, and went on to making a living doing restoration work. Bob Dunning and Tom Johnson purchased an 1810 Georgian in Denmark, and the two plan to protect and restore the building. The organization Maine Preservation, based in Portland, has a goal of preserving the state's architectural heritage, and is involved in projects statewide. With stories of preservation efforts in Bangor, Belfast and Portland.
