Abstract
Two Michigan men, calling themselves the "Itch Busters," have proposed solutions for "swimmers itch" that is experienced by Belgrade Lakes residents. The rash is caused by a parasite that is believed to be spread by the common merganser duck and by a particular type of snail. The Belgrade Lakes Association is considering the pair's solutions. The men proposed to inject the ducks with a serum to kill the parasite, move them to the Kennebec River, and eventually perform some form of birth control on them, a procedure they say they have not yet perfected.
