Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on retail giant Wal-Mart's first Supercenter in Maine, which is coming to Augusta. A Wal-Mart Supercenter is a department store complex, which includes a grocery section and optional boutiques. The expansion will add 75,000 square feet to the 117,000 square feet of the existing store. A Maine business research report on coping with the effects of Wal-Mart was compiled in 1992 and was published by the University of Maine.
