Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on the next phase of the $50 million Capitol renovation in Augusta, which will focus on foot traffic corridors between the State Office Building and the State House, both above ground and below. The architectural firms of SMRT and Weinrich & Burt have been collaborating on the designs. According to Earle Shettleworth, executive director of the Maine historic Preservation Commission, there's also talk of using part of the renovation project's "1 Percent for Art" money to decorate the tunnel between the two buildings with a mural or wall hangings.
