Abstract
Editorial postulating that the gasoline additive MTBE is not a groundwater problem separate from gasoline itself. MTBE doesn't seep anywhere by itself. It does so when gasoline is spilled or improperly disposed of. Therefore, if Maine had a problem before MTBE was replaced, we still have it.
