Abstract
"Other Voices" piece by Douglas Watts, a volunteer stream-keep and president of Friends of the Kennebec Salmon, refuting the assertions of Atlantic salmon scientists Ed Baum and Jerry Marancik that the wild Atlantic salmon runs in the lower Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers are doing just fine with no conservation protection from state or federal authorities. With observations of what is happening on Bond Brook in Augusta, the lower Cobbosseecontee Stream in Gardiner, Carley Brook and South Branch of the Marsh River in Prospect and Kenduskeag Stream in Corinth.
