Abstract

"Maine Interview" piece with Maine Drug Enforcement Agency supervisor Darrell Crandall Jr., who has been in law enforcment for more than 14 years and drug enforcement for 10 years. Crandall says methamphetamine sales and use is increasing rapidly in Aroostook County. Since 1996, 47 people have been arrested on meth charges in Aroostook, and drug agents have seized over 10 pounds of the stimulant with a street value of $500,000. In the first five months of the year, 3,305 grams of the drug have been seized in the county, four times the amount seized in all of 1998.
