Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the Penobscot Indian nation and Baxter State Park officials, who have agreed to work harder to find a mutually acceptable site for the tribe's spiritual ceremonies. As an interim solution, the Penobscots will use Katahdin Stream Campground for overnight camping and closing ceremonies for the year 2000 Labor Day run. The tribe has used that campground since the run began 18 years ago.
