Abstract
Since Portland Adult Education offered its first computer class for seniors less than two years go, attendance has increased a hundredfold to 1,200 at half a dozen sites, according to Elizabeth Isele, a national pioneer in senior-friendly computer literacy programs. Classes are limited to people 50 years of age and older. Isele, 58, a former university professor, is the founder of CyberSeniors.org. She has been invited to Washington later this month to participate in the inaugural of "Healthy People 2010," a 10-year health campaign organized by the Department of Health and Human Services.
