Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on a legislative bill, still in its draft stage, that would allow municipalities to give tax breaks for preserving historic and scenic properties. Lawmakers are considering reimbursement for taxes already paid rather than reduced property values as the chosen vehicle. The Legislature's Taxation Committee was scheduled to hear the recommendation today.
