Abstract

Attorney General Michael E. Carpenter and Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Dean Marriott both urged the Legislature's Judiciciary Committee to toughen the criminal penalties for deliberate violation of state pollution laws. A similar measure last year failed in the Maine House by a vote of 72-76.
