Abstract
"Perspectives" piece criticizing members of the Legislature's Taxation Committee for having voted 11-2 to enact a referendum that would enact the anti-snack tax referendum, which is opposed by both the Maine Municipal Association and the Maine Center for Economic Policy. The author, Douglas Rooks, explains repeal of the snack tax might be good politics but poor policy.
