Abstract
"Perspectives" piece about James Orr, a valued advisor to former governor John McKernan, and the influence he exerted on Unum. For a time, Orr was known as a corporate hero for his economic and community contributions. Last year Orr bailed out of UnumProvident on a $20 million golden parachute, ending his career by abandoning the company he created.
