Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway's John's Bridge access plan. Two members of the waterway's advisory council have suggested that the Bureau of Public Lands (BPL) might be sacrificing the river's wilderness character by going farther than legally required to provide handicapped access at the new launch site. But BPL director Tom Morrison told the council he had been notified by the National Park Service that the rules of the Americans with Disabilities Act apply in the 92-mile river corridor.
