Abstract

Last week's vote by the Bangor City Council against a local businessman's proposal to run the Bass Park harness racing facility will diminish racing at state fairs, according to park director Michael Dyer. The May-through-July Bangor raceway-season allowed horsemen a warmup period before they started traveling the state fair circuit.
