Abstract

Some students at Colby and Bates colleges who voted in last week's elections were challenged by individuals who objected to the fact that college students have a legal right to vote where they go to school. In Waterville, school board candidate Pamela Trinward objected to Colby students registering to vote after a Colby professor announced he would challenge her as a write-in candidate, while opponents of Lewiston's anti-discrimination ordinance challenged Bates students whose local addresses did not match those given in a college student directory.
