Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on Piper Shores, a $32 million luxury retirement complex in Scarborough, which is being built with help from undocumented workers from Central America, according to union organizers. The charge was denied by both general contractor Granger Northern and subcontractor State Line Drywall. But after the denials were made last week, agents from the Immigration and Naturalization Service arrested three undocumented workers from Mexico who had left the Piper Shores job site that morning. At least a half-dozen other undocumented workers were said to be still working on the Piper Shores project.
