Abstract

"News & Issues" piece on the Maine State Nurses Association (MSNA), which is breaking ties with its parent organization, the American Nurses Association (ANA). At a meeting in Bangor on April 28, the MSNA voted 259-31 to disaffiliate because the ANA took "middle-of-the-road" positions on mandatory overtime, staffing levels and use of latex gloves. The MSNA represents more than 1,600 nurses in Maine.
