Abstract
"News & Issues" piece on an "electioneering" loophole in Maine's Clean Elections Law that was exploited by both parties last fall to wage partisan attacks. A legislative bill supported by the Maine Citizens Leadership Fund and sponsored by Sen. Beth Edmonds, (D-South Portland), which would have strengthened disclosure requirements for so-called independent expenditures, has been referred to the Legislature's Legal and Veterans Committee for study and proposed legislation for next year.
