Abstract

"Cover Story" piece on the new, $34 million Noble High School serving a school population of 1,100 in the three southern York County towns of School Administrative District 60: Berwick, North Berwick and Lebanon. Sometimes called the "Taj Mahal of high schools," Noble is the largest (270,000 sq. ft.) and most expensive high school ever built in Maine. It has two gymnasiums, art rooms with 20-foot ceilings, 11 playing fields spread over 24 acres, and a 1,000-seat auditorium with full orchestra pit.
