Abstract

Long article on an unprecedented management strategy initiated to deal with the dam on Moxie Pond, which has been scheduled for relicensing by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 1993. Costs for environmental and recreational impact statements would have outweighed the economic benefits of relicensing the dam, so dam owners turned to various recreational groups to negotiate a viable management strategy.
