Abstract
Brief article describing the sense of unease that has gripped the Portland's Old Port bar scene since the unsolved disappearance of Amy St. Laurent on Oct. 25. Sarah Warren of the Club Subterra said she has asked her staff to escort single females to their cars since the disappearance and has also asked them to lock the pubs doors when they are working alone before or after business. Trevor Westwig, the manager of Gritty McDuff's said fewer women are now coming in by themselves, and both Westwig and Warren agree that St. Laurent's disappearance has added to the post-Sept. 11 wariness.
