Abstract
"News" piece on entrepreneur Harley Lee, owner of Endless Energy Corp. of Yarmouth, who is about to ask the Land Use Regulation Commission for a permit to develop major wind farm on Redington and Black Nubble mountains across from Sugarloaf USA ski resort. Appalachian Trail (AT) protectors are against the project due to the scenic impact of the windmills, which would be seen from the AT on Crocker Mountain. Lee hopes to erect 29 turbines with 130-foot blades that would generate about 200 million kilowatt hours a year, or enough to power 33,000 Maine homes. Lee said $1 million has already gone into the project, which would use about 230 acres.
