Abstract
"News" piece on the 137-foot Grand Banks schooner Roseway, long a fixture in the Camden windjammer fleet, which will be auctioned by a U.S. marshal next month in Rockland. The Roseway, built in 1925 at Essex, Mass., has been tied to a Rockland harbor pier since July, when authorities seized the idled vessel in Camden after owner George Sloane, doing business as Atlantic Packet Company, failed to inspect the hull and make required repairs. Sloane then defaulted on a loan from First National Bank of Damariscotta, and the bank foreclosed. Sealed bids will be accepted until the public auction gets under way on Jan. 7.
