Abstract
"News" piece on Mark Ishkanian, the public relations man for Central Maine Power who achieved near-celebrity status during the ice storm of 1998, has joined the Maine Hospital Association (MHA) as its new vice president for public affairs. Ishkanian replaces 14-year MHA veteran Jim Harnar, who announced his resignation last fall. Joining MHA at a critical time in its 60-year history, Ishkanian will be the organization's spokesman as Maine confronts a health care cost, access and insurance crisis. MHA recently released a 50-page report on the health insurance problem called "Closing the Gap: A Guide to Understanding and Improving Health Insurance Coverage."
