Abstract
"Op-ed" piece by Cyrus Hamlin of Kennebunk, who says that Maine should preserve its small-scale fisheries, and that the preservation begins with the fishermen themselves. Hamlin calls on the Maine Department of Marine Resources to act as consultants for the marine industry and to provide the data and statistical base to aid fishermen councils in making decisions.
