Abstract

"News" piece on the York County Jail in Alfred, where plumbing bills have been running $3,000 a month for the past year because inmates keep deliberately jamming and flushing toilets with sheets, towels and other individually issued items. Jail officials have finally stopped the pranks. They are numbering by cell every item of linen and clothing issued to inmates, making it possible to identify the person responsible.
