Abstract

"News" piece on a traveling advocacy group that is stopping at several locations in Maine to raise awareness about social injustices associated with a globalized economy. Jack McKay of the Bangor-based activist group Peace through Interamerican Community Action (PICA), helped to organize a forum in Bangor. The tour, organized by the Alliance for Responsible Trade, coincided with President George W. Bush's four-day journey through Latin America. If it is successful, the tour will continue across the country. The forum in Bangor was the group's first public hearing in Maine. Held on March 22, it attracted well over 100 people.
