Abstract

Ed Howes of Maine Yankee this week confirmed that the decommissioning package for the plant includes a section on converting the facility into a natural gas plant. Maine Yankee offers a transmission grid and access to large volumes of water, two of the three items necessary for a generating plant. Chris Herter of Casco Bay Energy says the only downside for the Wiscasset facility is the length of time before it would be available. Details.
