Abstract
Lou Chamberland of Newburgh resigned as executive director of the Women's Business Development Corporation in November. WBDC board member Carol Warren says the Bangor organization's checking account was overdrawn by $3,000 on the day Chamberland resigned, the line of credit was at its maximum, accounts payable totaled around $60,000 and there were no funds for payroll. Warren has been contacted by the Internal Revenue Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and others about the use of federal and state grant money at WBDC. Chamberland says she has not been directly confronted with accusations of impropriety. Details.
