Abstract
Great Northern Paper is building rustic cabins for public rental in the West Branch area. The move is in response to recreational pressures and to augment revenues from timberlands. Five or six cabins will be constructed next summer, with all of them near existing recreational opportunities like the Appalachian Trail and the International Snowmobile Trail. Great Northern will soon submit a formal application to the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission for review. Details.
