Abstract
Maine has 147 high schools, and each one of them fields both a girls and a boys basketball team. During tournament time in March, nearly 200,000 Mainers will turn out for the championship games alone. The author, a resident of Yarmouth, attended a Clippers game, and realized that most of the spectators were parents of players or friends of parents of players.
