Abstract

Staff attorneys at the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC) have filed a sharply worded brief outlining opposition to the recent agreement between the PUC and Central Maine Power Co. (CMP). The PUC agreed to limit further rate penalties against the utility in exchange for CMP agreeing to drop its appeal to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court challenging a $4 million penalty and denial of an additional $26 million in rate increases.
