Abstract
Theatre Arts Work, a pilot job development and training program, was created last summer by the non-profit Training and Development Corporation (TDC) of Bucksport with the help of a federal youth training grant. The program, run by theater director Bill Raiten, treats theater not only as an art, but as a business and a practical education tool. TDC, which served 2,300 clients in 1993, is one of 14 job-training programs around the country cited by President Clinton when he announced his training and re-employment initiative last winter.
