Abstract

University of Maine President Frederick Hutchinson proposed, as part of a downsizing of the Orono campus, to move the University College at Bangor onto the Orono campus, and $2.2 million was spent on the conversion of an Orono dormitory into an academic building. Faculty and staff at the Bangor campus invested hundreds of hours in the planned move, but Hutchinson this summer announced the move was off.
