Abstract

Around 32,000 hardy souls last weekend braved days of drizzle and downpours to attend the Common Ground Country Fair in Windsor, sponsored by the Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association. It had been anticipated that 60,000 individuals would attend the three-day event, but fair director Susan Pierce says the smaller turnout will not affect the search for a fairground of its own. MOFGA is looking for 100 acres of relatively flat ground within a 50 mile radius of Augusta in order to stage smaller events year-round. Details.
