Abstract

Second in a two-part series on funding the environmental movement. Recent years have seen a major decline in membership at national groups such as The Wilderness Sociey and National Audubon. The loss of membership dues has resulted in cutbacks in budgets and staff and greater competition among organizations for funding from foundations. Details, financial statements of Maine environmental groups, list of foundations giving to Maine environmental groups in 1993.
