Abstract

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's proposed Quality Fishing Initiative would impose slot limits, minimum and maximum size limits, reduced bag limits and cath-and-release fishing on the state's anglers. Public hearings in Ashland and Machias went well, but attendees at a hearing in Waterville blasted the proposals, claiming they would unfairly single out bait fishermen. Details.
