Abstract
Fifteen years ago, Buddhism in Maine was a novelty, but during the 1980s it spread into pockets throughout the state. Walter Nowick brought Buddhism to Maine in 1965 when he established Moon Spring Hermitage in Surry, which has since become the Morgan Bay Zendo.
